the Marathi food with fish and coconuts

Similar to the coastal states of India, Marathi food also comprises of lots of fish and coconuts. Vegetables are an essential part of the food. Grated coconut is usually used in many dishes along with lots of peanuts and cashew nuts. Peanut oil is mainly used to prepare food in Maharashtra.

A vegetarian Marathi dish usually consists of recipes such as curries, rice, sweets etc. It includes 4 chapatis, pulses, vegetable, curd, rice, salad and sweet-dish optional. Some other well known foods of Mumbai are Bombil Batata Bhaji, Kamag Kakri, Solachi Kadhi, etc.

Apart from Maharashtrian vegetarian recipes, tourists can also taste Shrikhand, a sweet dish that is eaten with puris, and Chikki. Shira and Puran Poli are other desserts prepared specially on puja occasions.

The Bollywood City of India - Mumbai

Formerly known as Bombay, Mumbai is the capital of Maharashtra, an Indian state. It is also known as the financial capital of India and is the most populous city in India. As Mumbai lies on the west coast of India, it is one of the important ports in India. It is home to many financial institutions like the Reserve Bank of India, the Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange and headquarter to many Indian and Multi-national companies. As the city offers many opportunities for earning, a major population of India migrates to city to earn its livelihood.
